Carlos Holemans, new president of the Creative´s Club Spain
At the General Meeting of the Creative´s Club Spain held a few days ago, Carlos Holemans, founder and executive creative director at El Laboratorio, was elected president of the Creative´s Club. This post will be occupied by him for two years, so his mandate will extend to 2015.
Holemans presented the 12 members who will with him make up the board: Adolfo Gonzalez, creative director; Belén Coca, creative director at La Despensa; Eva Conesa, creative director and partner at twoelf; Ezequiel Ruiz, creative director and Head of digital at Sra. Rushmore; Hugo Olivera, creative director at Full Circle Karma; Ignasi Giro, partner and creative director at Honest&Smile; Juan Silva, executive creative director at Shackleton, Judith Francisco, founder and creative director at Swing Swing; Miguel Madariaga, creative director at SCPF, Mónica Moro, executive creative director at McCann and Rafa Soto, founder and partner at Herraizsoto.
Holemans has wide experience of how the club works as he has served on several boards that manage the association.
He has been president of the jury at El Sol, as well as a jury member at the club and at Cannes. During his 27 years as a creative director, Holemans has won over a hundred national and international awards. At last years´ Cannes festival he became the first Spanish creative director to present his agency at the Palais des Festivals, as part of the Independent Agencies Showcase.
During the Members´Assembly, Holemans outlined his programme. He said that despite the enormous changes that have taken place around the sector, the club is still needed because its aims to “ support, applaud, document, encourage, nourish, recognize and disseminate the best possible creative work in the communication that brands initiate with people”. The new president also referred to the fact that generosity is the ingredient that binds all the members together, “a unique thing in the fierce ecosystem of the advertising industry. We´re united in the belief that giving without expecting anything in return is a value that is worth defending”.
